Virginia Internet High School An Internet Schools, Inc. affiliate |
eOffices & eClassrooms
The Virginia Internet High School is now affiliated with Internet Schools, Inc. and is leasing its online facilities to K-12 schools and educational institutions. Fully furnished and equipped, these newly refurbished eOffices and eClassrooms are ready for immediate occupancy and use by school personnel. Every teacher, counselor, and administrator can now have their own private online office and classroom to teach, inform, and meet with students, parents, and colleagues. Equipped with links to the latest and most functional online resources, the Internet-Schools eOffices and eClassrooms allow lessees to create and publish their own papers and documents using WordPerfect or Word software. eOffice and eClassroom lessees are notified of additional resources and updates on a regular basis. Generic eOffices are available for school clubs, teams, committees, and other groups.
Internet-Schools Publications Internet-Schools also makes its own publications and studies available online to administrative and guidance office lessees when appropriate. "The 2002 Shopper's Guide for Virginia Colleges" is available for posting in the online Guidance Offices. Other studies, reports, and data will be made available for posting to all lessees of administrative and guidance offices.
eOffice/eClassroom Access The lessee must establish a roster or list of people who may enter the online office or classroom. For those lessees who want privacy, each user must be given an individual UserName and password. If the person is already on the roster of another Internet Schools office or classroom in the school, the lessee has the option of using the existing UserName and password. Lessees who want to grant open access to their online facility can publish a UserName and password.
"Online Meeting Room" Missed faculty and administrative meeting are a thing of the past. Principals and superintendents can now securely and privately conduct their faculty meetings and administrative meetings online. Any educational or school group can meet, share information, discuss issues, and conduct group business in their own online office. Teachers who choose to post lessons and assignments in their online classrooms can direct and supervise student discussions in the classroom "Meeting Room." Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, absences from meetings and classes are no longer necessary.
Online"How to" Instruction To ensure renters are able to fully and effectively utilize their online facilities, the Internet-Schools enrolls each lessee in an online "how to" class with other office and classroom renters. This "how to" classroom contains directions for operating and maintaining the online facility plus examples of class assignments, lessons, announcements, schedules, newsletters, school news, and calendars. "How to" class members are expected to discuss operational problems, questions, successes, ideas and new developments with fellow-lessees in the classroom "Meeting Room."
