Mission

The Virginia Internet High School works with and through local school divisions in providing online school facilities for administrators, teachers, counselors, staff members, and students. Our purpose is to afford every secondary school, office, and classroom the opportunity to become an online facility. The Internet Schools, Inc. is dedicated to removing time and distance as obstacles to students obtaining the quality education they seek.
The concept of an Internet high school was outlined in C.M. Edwards’ October 1995 NASSP Bulletin article, The Internet High School: A Modest Proposal. Virginia school officials interested in making their schools, offices, and classrooms accessible via the Internet should visit the eRental Office. Parent groups and student groups interested in an online office for their club, team, or organization will need to talk with their local school officials. Arrangements for use of all Internet Schools facilities must be made through the local school division.
