Courses, Duration, and Costs

All the English, social studies, math, and science courses needed for graduation are available to Virginia students with access to the Internet and the approval of their local school division. Courses are taught by certified and endorsed Virginia educators using Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOL) in 90-day formats. A limited number of 45-day "catch-up courses" will be available the second and fourth quarter of the school term.

Students may take no more than three 90-day or two 45-day classes at the same time. End-of-course exams based on the Virginia SOL’s are required in each VIHS class. The cost of each course is $500. Class sizes range from 1 to 20 students for first-time Internet teacher-contractors and 1 to 25 for experienced Internet teacher-contractors.
